Orange shirts and Pepsi

Anyone who know's me, knows that I am a Pepsi Fanatic. I like pepsi. I always have. I grew up with pepsi . . .

At kids camp the speaker wore and orange shirt everyday. He was the orange shirt guy. The kids he chose as actors were kids who wore orange shirts. Eventually the kids all were wereing orange shirts. He told us leaders that he didn't really love orange. And usually he wears more than one color everyday. He said, "I have one week to connect with these kids. If I wear an orange shirt everyday. It associates them with something. They start asking me about it. And laughing at me for it and therefore talking and connecting with me. Because I'm the orange shirt guy".

As he spoke about this, it reminded me of myself and Pepsi. That is definately my trademark. I mean as I said, I've always drunk pepsi. But it wasn't always my trad mark. I mean people knew it was my preference, but people didn't talk about me and pepsi. As my mind went to this, I started trying to figure out when it all began - Maggie the Pepsi fanatic.

I decided that inadvertantly it began when I started working at school. I didn't do it on purpose like Kevin did, but it was very much the same effect. I had pepsi on my desk and a kid comented on it. I gave and exaggerated reply "I looove Pepsi". One thing led to another, and kids started telling each other about how much I love Pepsi. How I always have Pepsi. I keep my case in my car so I don't drink them at home. Kids would see me in the parking lot with my stash and it just went from there. I had a trademark. Now they make jokes about me dressing up as a Pepsi can for halloween, etc.

How funny that such a thing like orange shirts and pepsi would be a connecting point. I mean there are lots of people that drink pop everyday. The same flavor each day even. I guess it depends if you play along. Hmmm.

Jeannie and Holly, if you read this, I'm getting worried. What will happen if I don't have Pepsi?? Prism diet coming to Grandview A/G. I mean that's heavy stuff. It's more than a diet. (I don't really need a diet). But it's "think about what God would want you to put in your body. honoring your body". (something I probably do need to think about). You know me. Pretty much anything the church is doing, I want to be a part of. But giving up Pepsi!! Who knows?? What would be my trademark?

"Who, Who, Who."

You are my owl.

That above is supposed to be a owl talking... except i forgot how to spell it. That could be your trademark.

I would say, walk in obedience. The greater joy in your walk will be in response to where the Lord has you. So, if Pepsi is part of the package, great! If Pepsi is not part of the package, great!

Because the joy of the Pepsi is tied with it being an option. If the Lord takes that option away, even though you love the Pepsi, it won't work!!!!

as you well know, wise owl.

i've got a couple different "trademarks" too. at church i'm the computer guy (apple/mac to be exact) or the FPU guy. at school though (and this just came about this year) i'm known as the "smart water" guy. i've been carrying a water bottle with me most of the time and it says "smart water". for some reason the kids picked up on this and thinks it' makes me smarter. they all ask where i got it (safeway) and how much it costs. they tell me they're gonna get some to do better in school. crazy, huh?!

on another note . . .
